Campaign Focuses on Hazard Recognition, Fall Prevention, Fatigue, and Impairment
The American Staffing Association is proud to announce that it is partnering with the National Safety Council this year in observing National Safety Month—a nationwide campaign, held annually in June, that focuses on reducing leading causes of injury and death at work, on the road, and in U.S. homes and communities.
Each week during National Safety Month, ASA will communicate with member staffing agencies and other audiences about the staffing and recruiting industry’s commitment to temporary and contract employee safety on the job and will encourage members to also demonstrate their commitment too by taking the NSC SafeAtWork pledge and participating in other activities.
“Protecting the safety, health, and well-being of temporary and contract employees is a top priority for ASA and its member companies,” said Stephen C. Dwyer, Esq., ASA general counsel. “Partnering with NSC on National Safety Month is another means to spotlight the staffing industry’s commitment to worker safety.”
NSC launched National Safety Month in 1996. Each June, NSC provides downloadable resources highlighting a different safety topic for each week. Topics for 2019 are hazard recognition; slips, trips, and falls; fatigue; and impairment.
