Online staffing platform Upwork Inc. (NASDAQ: UPWK) joined an advertising boycott against Facebook, Yahoo reported. “We are actively committed to being an anti-racist company and that means we have to make decisions that align with those values,” Erin Thomas, head of diversity at Upwork, told Yahoo in a video interview. CNN reported on a growing list of companies taking part in the advertiser boycott over concerns Facebook wasn’t doing enough to stop the spread of hate. The Anti-Defamation League and the NAACP launched a campaign last week, #StopHateforProfit, urging corporations to pause advertising on Facebook.
